New LOTRO Store Point Bundles
Today LOTRO announced two new store bundles that they’ve added to the LOTRO Store!
The two largest bundles are the new items. Now I can already hear you going “OH EM GEE $200!!?!” Honestly though, only the $99.99 one is truly news to me.
The $199.99 version has been available in the Turbine Web Store since December 2011. When introduced it was $136.49 as a special but even then it showed it’s full price was $199.99. Oh I agree. It’s completely insane amount of points for a huge chunk-o-cash. I can’t imagine someone requiring more points. Ever.
I know Merric dreams of having 23,000 Turbine Points. He asked if he thought we’d continue playing long enough for him to spend them all. I assured him we certainly were going to play for at least another month so.. yeah.
Still it must have been purchased in order to make it a viable addition in the in-game store as well. The $99.99 version may have been added to be a filler since it’s a pretty big jump from $60 to $200!
Let’s look at the conversion rates.
$99.99 bundle reduces the cost to $0.009095 per point
$199.99 bundle reduces the cost to $0.008695 per point
Both are less than a penny a point but honestly, this isn’t really a super great conversion rate (if you are into counting tenths of a penny in your calculations).
However I can see the appeal of these huge bundles. A one time purchase to give you all you should possibly need to buy all the goodies you need for your account and characters.
The only thing I am crazy enough to wonder is, will these bundles ever be part of a double bonus points promotion? Holy moly 33,500 Turbine Points! That would be pretty darn awesome. I still don’t have $200 but I can still acknowledge the awesome at least.
